Could you ever imagine anyone on a school’s staff uttering the words, “I hear you knocking but you can’t come in” to a parent? It seems almost too ridiculous to believe that any educator would speak such disrespectful and hurtful words. The shocking reality is that many parents receive this message on a daily basis from schools throughout the nation. Although this message may not be communicated verbally, we understand that actions are far more impactful than words.

This guide is a phenomenal resource to support school administrators and educators in identifying barriers to family engagement in their schools and assist them with step-by-step approaches to facilitating a framework for creating a welcoming environment. Your school will learn sustainable family engagement strategies guaranteed to inspire and transform your view of parent involvement.
