Executive Director of Professional Development

Hilda Stevens is co-founder and Executive Director of Professional Development for Successful Innovations, Inc. She has experience consulting and leading professional development workshops at the state and national levels.  As a former Virginia educator with over 35 years of public school experience, Mrs. Stevens has had extensive training in Parent & Family Engagement Strategies, Response to Intervention, Literacy Coaching, and Differentiated Instruction.

Mrs. Stevens has co-authored and published three books, “Building a High Achieving School”, "Parent Involvement 101",and “Family Engagement and Nurturing Children to be Independent Thinkers”,  which have received recognition among civic and state community leaders and being used by many educators throughout the nation.   She has also authored, “Connections” articles and numerous DVD scripts, which provide practical tips for parents to help support their child’s literacy, math, and language development.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Averett University, a Masters of Education in reading from Lynchburg College, and gifted education and Administration/ Supervision endorsements from the University of Virginia. She has served as Adjunct Instructor with Lynchburg College in the Education Department with intern-teacher preparation.

Mrs. Stevens has been involved in her community through the Kiwanis Club International, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, the Chamber of Commerce and church membership. She received recognition as 2010 Cambridge Who’s Who and 2012 The International Women’s Leadership Association Award, 2016 VIP Member of National Association of Professional Women, and 2016-2017 Worldwide Branding Who’s Who for leadership and service to the community.

 She has been married to her husband, Terry for 43 years.  They have two adult children, and 4 grandchildren.
